SAIL GP SEASON 3 [2022 - 2023] „POWERED BY NATURE, DRIVEN BY PURPOSE“
SAIL GP was founded in October 2018 by former America's Cup Winners Larry Ellison and New Zealander Sir Russell Coutts to create a Sailing League on High Performance Boats driven by High Performance Sailors.

On June 7th 2022 SAIL GP ORGANIZERS confirmed that they had shortlisted Four Canadian Cities to host the first ever CANADA SAIL GRAND PRIX during Sail GP's Season 4: Those Cities are Halifax in Nova Scotia, Kingston in Ontario, Montreal in Quebec and Victoria in British Columbia.
SAIL GP TO RETURN TO SYDNEY
On June 17th 2022 just one Day before the Start of Racing in Chicago SAIL GP ORGANIZERS announced that the cutting edge Sailing League would return to the iconic City of Sydney for Season 3 completing the 2022/2023 Calendar as part of a 3-Year Deal. Racing is set to commence on February 18-19 2023.

SAILGP SEASON 3 CHICAGO NOTABLES # 1 SAIL GP welcomed two new Female Athletes during Racing in Chicago, 26-year old Swiss Sailor Maud Jayet, who competed in the Laser Radial Class during the Toyko Olympics AND 28-year old French Sailor Aloïse Retornaz, who competed in the Women's 470 Class in the Toyko Olympics. # 2 During the 1st Day of Racing in Chicago it had a very unique Start Line Setup. Because of a breakwall Teams & Drivers could choose to place themselves & their respective Teams inside or outside that breakwall. # 3 The Japan SailGP Team is not involved in the T-Mobile United States Sail Grand Prix at Navy Pier. Japan will sit out the first events of the season due to a series of external factors resulting in only nine F50s being available for the start of Season 3.
RACE FORMAT FOR SAIL GP SEASON 3 Each Grand Prix consists of 5 Fleet Races and 1 Podium Race. The Winner of each Fleet Race gets 10 Points, 2nd 9 Points, 3rd 8 Points, 4th 7 Points, 5th 6 Points, 6th 5 Points, 7th 4 Points, 8th 3 Points, 9th 2 Points and 10th 1 Point. The 3 Teams with the most Points after the 5 Fleet Races face each other in a Podium Race to determine the Winner of the Individual Event. The Top 3 Teams with the most Points from all Events at the end of the Season go Head-to-Head in a Race called "THE GRAND FINAL" for 1 Milllion $ Prize Money.
