SAIL GP ORGANIZERS announced Luxury British Car RANGE ROVER as Main Event Sponsor for the France Sail Grand Prix prior to racing in Saint-Tropez on September 10-11.
The SAIL GP Community paid Tribute to HER MAJESTY Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away September 8th at her Summer Residence in Balmoral, two Days before racing commenced in Saint-Tropez
SAIL GP SUPER SUNDAY INTRODUCED
SAIL GP ORGANIZERS in consultation with the Regatta Director Iain Murray introduced "SUPER SUNDAY" in Saint-Tropez and beyond where four Races will be held instead of three on Sunday with the Final Race being the Podium Race. The Sunday Schedule is dependent on the actual Weather though.

SAILGP SEASON 3 SAINT-TROPEZ NOTABLES
# 1 Because of a collision during Practice Racing on Friday between the SWITZERLAND SAIL GP TEAM and the UNITED STATES SAIL GP TEAM Switzerland was docked 4 Points and started the Event on Saturday at - 4.
# 2 The UNITED STATES SAIL GP TEAM lost their Female Athlete Trialist, 49er FX Olympian Stephanie Roble due to a sprained ankle and had to loan Frenchwoman Amélie Riou from the FRANCE SAIL GP TEAM.
# 3 During the abandoned Race 5 on Super Sunday the UNITED STATES SAIL GP TEAM clipped the stern of the FRANCE SAIL GP TEAM and was penalized 8 Event Points and 4 Points from their Season Championship Total were docked as well.
UPDATED RACE FORMAT FOR SAIL GP SEASON 3
Each Grand Prix consists of 6 Fleet Races and 1 Podium Race. The Winner of each Fleet Race gets 10 Points, 2nd 9 Points, 3rd 8 Points, 4th 7 Points, 5th 6 Points, 6th 5 Points, 7th 4 Points, 8th 3 Points, 9th 2 Points and 10th 1 Point. The 3 Teams with the most Points after the 6 Fleet Races face each other in a Podium Race to determine the Winner of the Individual Event.
The Top 3 Teams with the most Points from all Events at the end of the Season go Head-to-Head in a Race called "THE GRAND FINAL" for 1 Milllion $ Prize Money.
