SAILGP SEASON 4 FRANCE SAIL GRAND PRIX SAINT-TROPEZ, FRANCE NOTABLES
# 1 The CANADA SAILGP TEAM welcomed 470 Class Olympian ANNIE HAEGER to the Sailing Squad in Saint-Tropez as Strategist.
# 2 The UNITED STATES SAIL GP capsized during Fridays Practice Racing. However all of the 6 Crewmembers were accounted for and the boat suffered no damage.
# 3 During the 1st Race of Day 1 the CANADA SAIL GP TEAM collided with the SPAIN SAIL GP TEAM. Canada was found at fault and subsequently lost 8 Event Points and 4 Season Championship Points.
# 4 Shortly after the conclusion of Race Day 1 the 29M High Wing of the NEW ZEALAND SAIL GP TEAM collapsed resulting in Major Damage ruling the Team out from further participation on Day 2 of the France Sail Grand Prix in Saint-Tropez.
UPDATED RACE FORMAT FOR SAIL GP SEASON 4
Each Grand Prix consists of 5-6 Fleet Races and 1 Podium Race. The Winner of each Fleet Race gets 10 Points, 2nd 9 Points, 3rd 8 Points, 4th 7 Points, 5th 6 Points, 6th 5 Points, 7th 4 Points, 8th 3 Points, 9th 2 Points and 10th 1 Point. The 3 Teams with the most Points after the 6 Fleet Races face each other in a Podium Race to determine the Winner of the Individual Event.
The Top 3 Teams with the most Points from all Events at the end of the Season go Head-to-Head in a Race called "THE GRAND FINAL" for 1 Milllion $ Prize Money.
